Field assessments, development and implementation of site management plans, liaison with appropriate agencies to ensure permissions gained.       Overseeing the management of 30 nature reserves (>700ha) including SSSI calcareous grassland, SAC/SSSI Beech Woodland, SSSI floodplain meadow, and SSSI quarry pits. Sites in addition to the Stroud Valleys included Lower Woods, Coopers Hill, Crickley Hill and Badgeworth (only UK site to support Adders Tongue Spearwort). All reserves upgraded to favourable SSSI condition during my time in post.Guided walks/talks/presentations for major donors leading to the purchase of three nature reserves in strategic areas to link reserves working towards bigger-better-more-joined.Working with private landowners to create and successfully secure funded landscape scale conservation projects.Preparing precautionary working statements for management on sites which supported protected species including Water Vole, Great Crested Newt and Hazel Dormouse.Overseeing large scale Ashback felling employing contractors, preparing all grazing agreements, securing all site permissions (felling license, SSSI consent, TPO), and leading all stewardship schemes (HLS, CS). Show less Development and implementation of conservation grazing regime in Golden Valley with private graziers including GWT reserves and private landholdings (doubling amount of land grazed sympathetically for wildlife).Working in partnership with Royal Entomological Society and the Large Blue partnership, created largest known global population of Large Blue at Daneway Banks.Management of GWT reserves in Stroud Valleys including calcareous grassland and ancient woodland. Sites included Daneway Banks, Strawberry Banks (last Marsh Fritillary site in County), Swifts Hill (local Orchid hotspot) and Frith Wood (ancient Beech woodland). Highlights of time in role include the recolonisation of Pearl-Bordered Fritillary to reserves not occupied for over 20 years (from adjacent County stronghold - the last in County) Show less
