  This project, under the title of ‘Wilgamuwa Water Supply Project is located in the Eastern boundary of the Central Province within the Wilgamuwa Divisional Secretariat, of Matale District. The proposed project area is situated along the Minipe Right Bank Channel. This project will cover the 39 Grama Niladhari (GN) Division in Wilgamuwa Divisional Secretary area.The Wilgamuwa Water Supply Project is expected to supply drinking water to all GNDs in Wilgamuwa DS Division. Our primary water source is Heenganga.I am part of the Project management team, and I take some responsibility for security, health and safety, and organizing and supervising People, Materials, Machinery and Money. I mark out his own site, make sure designs are applied correctly and liaise with main and sub-contractors and the project management and have the responsibility to maintain good qualities.   Project Name: Greater Matale Water Supply ProjectEmployer: National Water Supply and Drainage Board Main Contractor: OTV Veolia & SADEProject Cost: Rs. 31 Billion I started working as a Project Engineer on the Greater Matale Project Project on 28th December 2018. I was appointed as a Project Engineer for PMU and I was responsible for supervising and coordinating the structural constriction and pipe laying of the Matale Sub Project. This subproject consists of a water treatment plant (30,000 m3/day) with intake weir and pump station( 40,000 m3/day), three ground reservoirs at Kandegedara, Aluviharaya and Palapathwala (total storage capacity – 6500 m3), five numbers of the support building addition to the primary responsibilities, I was responsible for reviewing and supervising progress within the scope of the project, handling social issues and coordinating the main contractor and subcontractors with other government agencies. Pipe laying consists of 13.3 km transmission and 65.6 km distribution lines.As in charge of the Project, I have conducted weekly site progress meetings with the contractor, discussed and recorded the progress, addressed the site safety issues, and attended to public complaints. Resolve contractor’s difficulties during the construction work. I prepared a checklist with the assistance of the Chief Engineer for site safety and checked it weekly. As the Project Engineer, I coordinated the construction and project activities with the NWSDB O&M team, MMC, MPS, RDA, PRDA, SLT, Railway Department, Agrarian Department, CEA, Police station and Matale GA, DS and DCC office.Furthermore, I am familiarized with the WTP Process and Hydraulic design, BS codes, Reynold handbook and design manuals of NWSDB.
