      Master of science (MSc) Human Kinetics and Ergonomics

      My masters degree and thesis is based the positional demands of adolescent rugby players. the reason behind this is as a strength and conditioning ocas we need to be able to condition our players for their specific roles on the field. There is a gap in the research when it comes to adolescents and understanding the demands of the game. The data collection process involves the use of GPS devices, and then the analysis is interpreting the data from the devices.

      This role had me overseeing all the conditioning of multiple sports teams at different ages. The school is a co-educational school, therefore I work with grade 8 (13 year olds) to grade 12 (18/19 year old) boys and girls. I conducted one on one sessions and team sessions for the variety of sports teams and the elite athletes. I ensures the the athletes who participate in more than one sport per term have their workload monitored and regulated to ensure they are performing at an optimal level. The student assistant positions required me to look after adolescent children in boarding house, look after their well being, safely and ensure that they are healthy and are succeeding academically.
