Identified best practices supporting the Latino Community.Developed a guide for state administrators to collect Perkins secondary and postsecondary placement data, providing a general outline for conducting and collecting survey data.Analyzed STEM course enrollment for states participating in STEM Equity Pipeline Project.Evaluated READ180 afterschool program in two California school districts. Developed interview protocols, site visit instruments and logistics.Studied parent involvement in school and home using National Household Survey. Assessed language minority students’ educational attainment and labor market indicators from Current Population Survey.Conducted year two evaluation of Berkeley Biotechnology Education, Inc. program serving underrepresented minority students in bio-tech field.Examined first-generation students’ postsecondary persistence and attainment. Worked on New American High Schools longitudinal study survey design.For Office of Vocational and Adult Education, examined high school course offerings from 1990-2000 based the High School Transcript Studies data. Analyses provided extensive course catalog coding on vocational programs of study, considering school variation, such as size, urbanicity, and socioeconomic composition.Examined Massachusetts secondary students’ participation and completion of career-technical programs nontraditional to their gender.For Management, Analysis and Planning and Wyoming Department of Education, conducted financial analyses of career technical expenditures and assisted in developing new funding formula for distribution of funds.   Consultant on two studies for Monterey County Office of Education. The first examined the experiences of African American students to understand how MCOE can better address their educational and social needs. During the African American Community Forum webinar,communicated findings to stakeholders including the State Superintendent, Tony Thurmond. The second study examined the coaching and training experiences of Spanish speaking Quality Matters participants to understand how Quality Matters can better serve its participants and inform strategic planning efforts. Consultant for Bright Futures Foundation. Conducted a one-year study of six Bright Spot elementary schools to highlight the factors that contribute to their site’s success. External Evaluator for Texas State University at San Marcos' Association of Collaborative Communities Equipping Youth for STEM Success (ACCEYSS) which is a two-year NSF grant that helps the San Marcos community support underrepresented youth's enrollment, persistence and completion of a STEM major. Evaluator for UC Berkeley’s Hall of Science’s Educational Pathways to College and Careers (EPICC) which is a three-year Linked Learning project that integrates academics and real world application with a purpose developed as a three week summer course geared to underrepresented high school students in the Oakland Unified School District. Provided formative as well as summative feedback to inform program implementation.Program Director for "El Rotafolio" project, a two-day, Spanish-language suicide prevention outreach training for those who work with California's Spanish speaking community. In addition to directing the process of tailoring material to be culturally relevant, I evaluate outreach efforts of training participants.External Evaluator for Wyoming Department of Education. Conducted a three year evaluation of two SIG cohorts to assess progress towards grant goals and conducting a fiscal audit of grant funds. Show less
