      Achievements:At Upward Motion I achieved many experiences and was able to use the knowledge I had from my degree. I learned how to properly make professional phone calls and set up consultations. How to put together a welcome packet which included an example of what their workout would consist of and what classes might be of interest to them. I learned how to properly and professionally give a tour of a facility. I was also able to achieve organization in the office by properly filing client folders. Organizing their meal supplement packages into categories and meal times (i.e. breakfast, lunch, and dinner). I created an organizational system for the mail and client folders for the trainers client folders. I was also in charge of social media, this included the E-newsletter, Blogger, Facebook, and Twitter accounts, I also wrote several pages for his workout book.Responsibilities:• All social media outlets ( Twitter, Facebook, Blooger, E-newsletter) • Set up, attended, and promoted health fairs.• Organized promotions for Upward Motion in the community: I created the concept of a kids summer camp, complete with nutritional information for parents, which was more affordable than competitors in the area.       Achievements:While interning for Kelly Tekin I achieved a wealth of knowledge in the health and fitness industry by instructing clients in accordance to Kelly Tekin's workout programs. I learned how to construct a diet plan together based on clients needs and desires, while also allowing them to achieve their fitness goals. I learned how to properly communicate to clients how to lift with proper technique, what weights they should be lifting and why, and how to progress. I gained experience handling clients in a professional manner. I was coached on how to properly execute a 9-site skin fold test by speaking to clients clearly and providing them with a safe and comfortable area. I gained insight into reading client personalities which helped me direct, motivate, and communicate with them in a way that allowed them to enjoy their workout, while achieving results.       Achievements:While working at Crunch I gained great experience and knowledge, particularly in the sales aspect. I learned how to focus on customers wants and needs and use that to sell a product, i.e. myself.       While working for BootcampSF I took on their Gap Inc. and Old Navy accounts. As a BootcampSF instructor I worked on my own, this allowed me the freedom to structure the classes in any way I felt appropriate. I had to be leader and make sure clients knew the benefits to the exercises they were preforming. As well as create a positive and pleasant environment that they would want to return to, and encourage co-workers to try out. I had to be able to make sessions fun, innovative, and challenging, I needed to make sure that clients were engaged and being pushed further then they would push themselves. This allowed me to work on reading body language, tone, and facial expression. BootcampSF works in 6-week sessions, which allowed me create unique programs for each one. I had the freedom to target different fitness goals including weight loss, decreasing mile time, working on running strides, targeting upper or lower body, etc. I needed to be able to give regressions and progressions for every exercise so I could meet all fitness levels needs. I had to be able to think fast on my toes, incase clients showed up with injuries, or attendance was high/low. It challenged me to be creative, think fast, and take charge. Show less

This helped me hone my training skills while offering the experience of working with forward-thinking individuals which helped to drive me to think better, work smarter and accomplish new heights and goals. I discovered new training styles which help to identify the best ones for each client. At Facebook, I created presentations for the staff, participated in community service projects, and helped to create and execute a half marathon. I ran regular small group training classes that focused on weight loss and held regular small group prenatal classes. I regularly designed class flyers, programs, homework exercise worksheets, and managed my own budget/payroll.I was in charge of conducting fitness assessments for each new member who came into our facility. This included a tour of the gym and advising which personal training package would best meet their health and fitness needs. I created multiple programs for each of my clients.       Working as a group fitness instructor at LinkedIn has helped me to increase my knowledge and expand my skills that I have learned through various certifications. My sessions are planned in Evernote for easy access and tracking, also incase any of my students would like a copy it makes it easy to send to them. I use MindBody to track my clients participation and check them in every class. It is up to me to provided an effective workout that drives results. When I first began instructing the class we were averaging three participants, we are now up to eight. It has taken time, but with help from my students we have helped this class grow. I have a passion for helping others and my students have helped spread the word about the class and their determination, as well as results have helped this class to grow. Show less
