      Vectus Biosystems Limited is a drug discovery and development company based in North Ryde, Sydney. Using its platform technology, Vectus has constructed a library of more than 1000 small molecules with varying degrees of anti-hypertensive and/or anti-fibrotic properties.As the laboratory manager at Vectus I was responsible for the day to day running of the research program. This involved providing updates and expert advice to the Chief Executive and Executive Director (Dr Karen Duggan) on the experimental program as well as reporting to the Vectus Board of Directors on research and operational matters. My role involved line management of 6-9 researchers, a business development manager and an administrative manager. During my time at Vectus I also contributed to discussions with the companies patent attorney on the IP protection strategy as well as discussions with company stakeholders and potential investors.
