Jun 2008 - Dec 2014I took over the co-ordination of various projects, thereby assisting the GM in completing several major and small jobs. These projects included, among others, the coordination of finishing a re-designed production line, building improvement works, installation of an air-circulation system, updating the Corporate Image, labelling many areas in accordance with 5S practices and re-organised the Miscellaneous stores using 5S principles. I also supervised works on building a Storage shed. I completed the Components and Sub-assemblies Catalogue and drafted and completed new Packing Instructions for all product lines. I also helped the sell some used equipment which was no longer required. Show less I was made responsible for all logistics and purchasing within the company, not only for production material, but also for company equipment and consumables. My responsibilities included obtaining Quotations, preparing Purchase Orders and liaising with suppliers up to delivery stage. I also took the responsibility of Budget Control and expenditure for all departments. A major challenge during this period was the restructuring of the Stores. This was a project which included setting up new stock locations, as well as planning and allocating sub-stores as well as the installation of additional shelving racks. Show less I moved one step further and took over the responsibility of Quality in addition to Purchasing and Material Management, though relinquishing my IT duties which were fully sub-contracted as thing became even more complex. My duties with regards to purchasing and logistics remained unchanged, however, in this role, I became responsible for the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001. This role included involvement in the Re-certification audits carried out by third party foreign organisations. I was also involved in carrying out Internal Quality Audits apart from being responsible to oversee the Quality system withing the company. I was also the point of reference on quality related issues involving the parent company. In this role, I was also responsible for training of production operators on various processes. Initially my main duties included Material and Stock management, as well as detailed Weekly Production Planning for all production employees. I was also responsible for the coordination of IT support services that were sub-contracted. A major project that I was responsible to coordinate was the changeover to a new Server as well as an upgrade of all software within the company. During this period I was also the coordinator for a big bang change from an MRP hosted in Malta to an ERP system hosted at the parent company in Germany. Though this project was mainly led by IT experts from the parent company, I was responsible for the coordination and implementation of the various stages at the company in Malta. I was also responsible for the day to day running of all the Stores, weekly Imports and Exports and annual comprehensive Stock Take. My duties also included preparation of annual Budgets for the Purchasing of production components and material, and IT investment plans in liaison with the GM.I was responsible to create Internal Work Orders in accordance with Client Order demands and planning of any urgent sales demands. During this period, the company also started purchasing components from China which was also coordinated and managed by myself under the guidance of the GM. This role included sourcing the most economic freight forwarding and logistics services.In 2011 I was responsible to pass my knowledge and experience on production planning and control to a newly employed production manager. Based on a training plan the transfer of knowledge and experience was completed successfully and on time.
