  I worked in the group of Prof. Paul Kamer on new catalysis for sustainable development. I was responsible for a lab with 7 PhD students and various undergraduate or visiting students. Alongside my own research I supervised a 5th year undergraduate student in his final year project, helped supervise a group of 3rd year undergraduates in their 4 week mini-project, ran tutorials for 1st year undergraduates and performed outreach work with primary school aged children who attended "Space School" open days at the university. I was also a member of the Postdoctoral Committee and have helped organise careers events and conferences. Show less

  I was a Senior Portfolio Manager (UKRI Band E) in the Research Infrastructure team, focussing on e-Infrastructure. I was contract manager for the ARCHER Supercomputer Service until the service was decommissioned in January 2021 as well as technical project manager on the project to procure its successor, ARCHER2 (£79m over 5 years). Additional responsibilities included line management, mentoring junior members of staff and involvement in recruitment assessment centres for new portfolio managers.   I am the Programme Manager (UKRI band F) at the NQCC, a £93m investment in quantum computing. Responsibilities include: reporting on progress to the Programme Board and BEIS/DSIT, helping develop new processes for the operation and maintenance of projects, risk management, programme assurance (including gateway reviews), recruitment, and line management. Outside of my everyday NQCC activities, I am Communications Officer for the UKRI Parenting Network Leadership Team, which is a role I carried on from my previous position in EPSRC. I’m also a mentor on the STFC graduate scheme (project and programme management stream). Show less
