I am a skilled writer due to the many term papers, and two independent research based theses I wrote during my education. I currently have a publication with the University of Michigan’s Animal Diversity Website, this publication was a term paper that I followed up on and was able to get published. I am also currently working on getting my honours thesis published. The many presentations I have given throughout my academic career, both formal and informal, have contributed to my oral communication and presentation development skills. Due to the large amounts of environmental sampling, independent research, and communication and presentation experience my education has provided me with several skills which would make me an asset to any environmental consulting firm, or environmental research based organization. Animal husbandry and hygiene are essential to our efforts and are therefore a large part of my responsibilities. We are currently working to modify the tame hack program in order to encompass the natural development of peregrine falcons and cater to their individual progress through the program. My duties therefore also include researching background material and consulting with wildlife researchers from the University of Manitoba. Show less

      Animal Care Supervisor

Tasked with assuring all resident animals at the Winnipeg Humane Society receive optimal care during their stay at in the shelter. The day to day activities of animal care supervisor include administering all medications prescribed to wounded or ill animals, updating vaccinations for resident cats and dogs, supervising and aiding staff to assure all animals are cleaned and fed following specific feeding requirements in a timely fashion, and monitoring animals for any signs off illness or injury. Communication was an extremely vital part of my position at the humane society as I was responsible for relaying information within my department between staff as well as informing alternating supervisors of any special cases that require attention or special care.
