Experience

The coffee guru centre
Nov 2011 - Nov 2017Barista, waiterWhilst working at Coffee Guru - a busy coffee shop in the Queen St Mall - I have acquired many skills and responsibilities: - Multi-tasking of responsibilities; - Training new co-workers; - Working efficiently and effectively within a team; - Managing co-workers when being the sole team member in charge. - Money handling and customer service under whilst in high stress environments.

Private tutoring
Sept 2013 - Nov 2018TutorI tutor High School Maths and Physics, assisting with the understanding and applications of concepts. My teaching methods are highly specific to each student, depending on their strengths and how lean most effectively and enjoyably. I am currently tutoring students ranging from High School thorugh to University level.

Youth without borders
Aug 2015 - Sept 2016Spark engineering camp brisbane secretarySpark Engineering Camp is a not for profit, Youth Without Borders program which runs a camp in the July Holidays for grade 10-12 high school students, run by volunteer university students. The week long camp, allows students to experience university life and see what engineering or a career in the STEM fields have to offer. This camp is aimed at helping students who come from social of financial disadvantaged backgrounds where they have been identified as having the potential to study in a tertiary setting, but have not yet realised this potential. This camp offers full scholarships to all attending students, thanks to all our partners. As the Brisbane Secretary, I focus on running each meeting, controlling agendas and writing minutes. I also assist other Brisbane Committee members with running events, booking rooms, and organising the camp. Show less

The university of queensland
Nov 2015 - Feb 2016Summer research scholarAs a Summer Research Scholar, I have the privilege to work independently and in a small group under Dr Matthew Mason, a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Queensland. In this role, I learned to safely operate an aerospace wind tunnel, to perform a variety of experiments to study the aerodynamics of bluff bodies in a time varying flow field. As the project progressed, myself and a small group created MATLAB scripts for post-processing of the data. This post-processing included removing outliers, quantifying trends, and creating meaningful 3D plots and moving images to represent the data. Throughout this program, I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge to understand the complex phenomenon occurring from past research, and apply the previous explanations our new research. I also loved writing new scripts to accurately analyse and visualise the complex physical system occurring in the wind tunnel, helping me gain further knowledge into the MATLAB and Python coding languages. Products for industry (pfi)
Nov 2017 - Nov 2018Engineering internAt Products For Industry, I worked with different teams to produce efficient solutions for customers within short time frames. The projects I worked on involved a multi-disciplinary approach including electrical, software, materials and mechanical engineering. In this role, I worked as part of a large team in a variety of roles including producing technical drawings, communicating with fabrication staff and using Inventor and AutoCAD to design and modify components.

Boeing defence australia
Nov 2018 - Feb 2019Engineering internAt Boeing Defence Australia, I worked in the High Frequency Communications team as an Engineering Intern. This role required me to learn technical data specifications to contribute to project implementation as well as communicate with different team members to ensure project requirements are met.I worked on synthesizing technical reports to be presented to the group and specifically new graduates. Other work I did included developing and running testing and quality assurance plans for new parts to be implemented in the project. Show less

Mar 2019 - Sept 2019Research assistantI worked as a Research Assistant at the Oxford Thermofluids Institute in the Hypersonics Group. In this role, my responsibilities included:- Designing and commissioning modifications to the Hypersonic Experimental testing facilities, - Managing supplier quotes and requirements for different projects,- Communicate with workshop staff to ensure all jobs are completed accurately, within budget, and on time,- Communicating technical project specifications and design choices to both my supervisors and critical project stakeholders. Throughout the role, I used the Solidworks CAD Package to design modifications and new parts as required for the experimental facilities and various projects ongoing in the group. I also worked as part of large teams to review and update designs and update the CAD design of the shared facilities, as well as for individual DPhil projects as required. I designed an optical vacuum system for a project in conjunction with NASA Ames. This project involved designing an evacuated optical path, mirror specifications and communicating with a range of product suppliers to ensure all parts met the required specifications. Show less
