  Overseeing employees and volunteers, such as hiring and training, evaluating performance and setting schedules. I am responsible for delegating work tasks, addressing employee concerns and enforcing policies. Responsible for keeping a good working relationship with our volunteers and fosters as well as setting up and giving facility tours. Educating the public about spay/neuter, heart-worm prevention, adoption, ect., instructing customers about proper animal care, dealing with complaints and assisting with adoptions. I am responsible for setting up and holding volunteer orientation. I oversee the process of animals coming into the shelter for a chance to be adopted, determining what space we have and if the animal is adoptable. Responsible for all medical records on each animals in HS care. Making sure all animals recieve their vaccinations on time and spay/neuter surgery is performed.I determine when animals require veterinary care and euthanasia. When an animal has to be euthanized I administer euthanasia humanely and follow proper procedures for carcass disposal. Other duties may involve cleaning and maintaining kennels and facilities, monitoring inventory, monthly reports, maintain equipment and coordinate fundraising efforts. Supervise Animal Care Technicians andVeterinary Technician ensuring all policies and procedures set forth by the board of directors are being followed and the health of our homeless pets are being met. Scheduling of animals to be accepted into the shelter. Process all animals into the shelter by administering microchip, vaccinations, running idexx heartworm test, prescribing medication such as wormer, antibiotics, flea and heartworm prevention. Entering medical records and animals information into the shelter database. Noticing signs of illness and either prescribing medication or scheduling an appointment with the veterinarian. Assisting the veterinarian with all shelter animals. Performing fecals and heartworm test. Making sure animals are compatible for play groups. Involved with the decisions if euthanasia is needed. Performing euthanasia when necessary . Establish and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, fosters, and customers. Assisting adopters with finding their new family member as well as going over any healthconcerns noted. Entering all HSSET animal stats into Shelter Animal Counts website. .Establishing and maintaining relationships with local veterinarians. Answering a multi-line telephone. Responsible for inventory, purchasing, sales, accounts payable, accounts receivable. Keeping all policies and procedures current and to the AVA standards of care.
