  Ecologist

  I am currently an Assistant ecological consultant at enims.I have been involved in various projects including large road schemes such as the M3 smart motorway leading up to Gatwick. I was the onsite ecologist undertaking ecological clerk of works supervising the labourers and educating them on environmental/ecological law. The main duties included a walkover of the site looking for any signs of protected species such as dormice,badgers,birds reptiles and bats before any works take place and supervision of the vegetation removal incase any of these species arise and suitable mitigation can be put in place.Whilst at enims i have been seconded out to larger companies such as Mott Macdonald and been heavily involved in another road scheme undertaking Great crested newt surveys, bat surveys including bat transect surveys, crossing point surveys and emergence and re-entry surveys, breeding birds surveys, reptile surveys and Preliminary ecological appraisals of buildings and trees for bats. I was the survey lead for the field ecology team for Bat surveys and Great crested newt surveys which mean i have to organise the survey packs for the whole team so they know what buildings and surveys they will be undertaking aswell as organising times for the surveys to be on site and ensuring surveyors are sitting in the correct places for bat surveys Ie what features to look at. I also have to liase with landowners regarding access to the their property/Land and making sure all the bat detectors are returned at the end of the week!.I also have experience in report writing and have completed numerous survey reports and phase one reports.   I am the ecological consultant at CES Ltd. I have been involved with undertaking grassland feasibility studies for a large infrastructure company. I have also helped produced management plans for sections of the a31 in the new forest. I have also been leading sensitive EcoW works under both dormouse and gcn licenses to ensure the works were completed under a strict methodology. I am also undertaking newt surveys to look for prescense and absence
