      This role took me from being a volunteer to managing group of volunteers in later stages. The first project was waste segregation where I interacted with local people and my neighbours to help them in segregation of waste. It involved closely collaborating with WWF, waste recycling company and neighbourhood for good project outcomes. In later stages, I managed volunteers for adopt a tree project and earth hour while working alongside them. It involved managing transport , finances, distributing saplings, keeping a record of plants and reporting of outcomes every week to WWF office. Show less

      This involved carrying out field surveys for smooth-coated otters in Western Ghats, India. Surveys included recording signs such as tracks, defecating areas, dens or direct sighting of otters. I also used camera traps to record their behaviour and calls at various sites in Goa.I entered the data collected into spreadsheets in Excel. This role also involved using GPS to mark locations of sightings and digital mapping using Google Earth to understand the patterns in movement and activity of otters. Show less

I have dedicated several hours to practical conservation work at Gosforth Nature Reserve with tasks including tree planting at a new native 'wildwood', hide maintenance, cutting reed bed, invasive species control, and board walk maintenance.
