  Product Designer

  Working on the Optical screw sorting machine project, my responsibilities were:■ Designing & 3D modelling of Qualviz, the Optical screw sorting machine. This is a machine which can sort out good and defective screws. It is used for quality control in the fastener manufacturing industry. I designed this machine in such a way that it can handle screws of various dimensions with very less or no adjustments. I made a 3D model of this machine and made sure that all parts are compatible and everything works in a perfect, rhythmic way.■ Preparing drawings and reports of the parts. Detailed drawings as per industrial standards were made for each part so that the fabricators can easily understand what we need. The entire process was documented for future reference.■ Supervising the fabrication of parts. The designs were discussed with fabricators to make sure that they understand what we exactly need and the process was supervised to ensure no mistakes were made.■ Quality control. I always double checked the manufactured parts to ensure that all parts are within the tolerances and of the desired quality. I conducted team meetings and meetings with fabricators to ensure that my designs are compatible and error proof. ■ Initial testing of PLC. When the PLC was brought to the company, I did the trial runs on it to ensure it's quality. Show less

  Drone Engineer

  As a Drone Engineer, my responsibilities in VDrone were:■ Headed the drone team to introduce fixed wing into Vdrone’s drone fleet thereby increasing the flight time by 4 times.■ Practiced ‘5 Why’ analysis and identified the root causes of the problems faced in the projects.■ Designing of Drones and it's accessories. I design drones, their frames, accessories,fixtures,.. as per the requirement of the company while keeping in mind the availability of parts, weight and overall cost.■ Fabrication of parts. Based on my designs, I check out for the various fabrication methods and vendors available. I have also used DIY techniques for faster prototyping.■ Survey of farms for crop health analysis. We as a team, start flying in the farms early in the morning. I do the flight checks and make sure that the drone is in perfect flying condition.■ Carrying out autonomous missions. Based on the farm size, I plan the missions and execute them.■ Drone performance analysis and evaluation. The flight characteristics of the drone are keenly observed. The performance of drone before and after modifications are evaluated.■ Preparation of flight review reports. Based on the analysis, flight reports are made which highlights the quality and accuracy of result, efficiency, time and various flight parameters.■ Modification of parts based on analysis. Based on the results, I modify the mechanical side of the drone. At one point, vibrations in the drone was one of the major issues our team faced. I designed and fabricated a fixture which later became an inevitable part of our drones as it solved the vibration issue without the need of a gimbal. ■ Training of Drone pilots. I train beginner pilots in multi rotors and fixed wings. I give them demo classes and train them in different simulators. Once they get a hang on the controls, I ask them to make different patterns and then follow me. I also train them in different scenarios so that they won't panic in case of an emergency. Show less

My responsibilities included: ■ Implemented methods like ‘Kaizen’ and ‘5S’ to increase productivity.■ Worked with different sensors for detecting temperature, weight, non contact measurement,…■ Worked with SSD relays and actuators like stepper motor, DC Motor, Servo motor,.. Programmed to tune them to meet the requirements.■ Designed and developed a compact desktop plastic extruder.■ Fabricated and analyzed miniature RC Hovercraft models.
