      Facilitated and coordinated improvements and adjustments on Campus recycling system and educated the community on the benefits of reducing, reusing, and recycling. Worked alongside faculty to begin the execution of a new recycling system for academic buildings on campus. Presented our proposals in front of building managers.

      Led and taught teamwork, leave no trace ethics, wilderness travel skills, and collaborative decision making while enriching relationships and promoting personal growth for 4-6 adolescents on a wilderness trip. Traversed through lake chains and over land portages in canoes, while providing group supervision and ensuring safety during various weather conditions and environmental hazards. Participants gained an appreciation of nature and their group members while out of their comfort zones in a wilderness setting. Show less

      Assists the Natural Areas Coordinator in the management of Natural Areas (10,000 acres) within the Milwaukee County Park System. Acts as a crew leader at sites and provides supervision for the NCCC AmeriCorps crews, SCA crews, and Natural Areas interns. Conducts maintenance and habitat restoration projects in natural areas including hiking trail rehab and installation, exotic plant removal, GPS trail mapping, and natural fence building. Office duties include maintaining site inventory and pesticide use databases. Other duties include public presentations, creation and implementation of restoration and management plans, maintaining tools and equipment, providing transportation to a variety of work sites in County vehicles, and performance evaluation for interns and myself. Experience operating ATV boom sprayer, chainsaws, brush cutters, tractor with implements, and forestry mower. Office manager duties include burn plan development, map creation using QGIS, permit applications, managing website, job site visits, invoicing, and billing.
