This position involved a wide range of tasks associated with the disability advice team at York St John University. I have worked closely with the team to implement my ideas to improve the experience of autistic students, including starting a Twitter and Youtube channel to hold campaigns and highlight the YSJ community. I have developed resources for autistic students including welcome packs, induction checklists and resources that would benefit autistic students, in addition to the marketing of these resources. I have also lead the evaluation of the Autism Success Pathway via Qualtrics surveys, Mentimeter and data analysis of previous evaluative work. Additionally, I presented the idea of a mentoring/buddy scheme for autistic students, particularly female autistic students who are often misdiagnosed or undiagnosed. This idea is currently being explored by the department, subject to funding, logistics and approval. Due to the work I provided for the Autism Success Pathway, my internship was extended twice.
