Also known as The Andersonville Sustainable Community AllianceI worked as President of the organization from 2/2006 through 5/2017. Subsequently, I have been it's Treasurer.During my tenures, we established the Eco-Andersonville initiative that provided the business certifications for Andersonville businesses on their environmental efforts, established the Andersonville Farmer's market, began a neighborhood composting program, placed recycling bins along the Clark Street business corridor, created place-making through people spots, public art, outdoor public events. As a result, Andersonville became nationally known as a business district that is primarily locally and independently owned businesses and properties creating a diverse local living economy. We won the 2017 Governor's Sustainability Award, the only 501c3 to do so that year. With the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce, we created the Neighborhood Development Committee that reviews new building developments, licenses, zoning issues, etc for the neighborhood in order to stay within the guidelines set forth by the Andersonville Chamber and the Andersonville Sustainable Community Alliance. I also led both the Chamber and the Alliance in holding joint board meetings, retreats, executive director searches, utilization of public spaces and municipal buildings. Show less
