  I worked full time at the Fonterra Te Awamutu site as a maintenance assistant over the summer period and have continued part-time during the year. The work involves tracing steam pipes to identify any steam leaking from steam traps so they can be replaced. In addition, it involves making P&ID drawings of the steam lines and generate ID numbers for each valve and steam trap. This requires working in places with high temperatures around hot pipes and places at high elevations.
