In this position, Mason became the lead on all system functionality and configuration for Financial Services. Mason has done an exceptional job becoming the FS functional lead. He has asserted himself and built constructive working relationships with division and ISD staff, working collaboratively and with transparency to break down silos and build mutual trust. Mason has assumed leadership of the Financial Advisory Working Group (FAWG), meeting with county staff weekly to discuss system functionality challenges, working the issues with them, and overseeing the SQR process to completion. Mason's leadership in this group, in addition to his collaboration with DMV leadership on system and legislative related topics, have greatly improved the teamwork and respect between sections. Mason also displayed a willingness to serve and provide his technical expertise in developing the future state requirements for the licensing system replacement project. He took the initiative to meet with accounting staff to gather feedback and gain an understanding on present challenges with the licensing system to include in future system requirements.
