    • Confessions of a Teacher Recruiter

      Jun 2013 - Aug 2019
      Author & Consultant

Confessions of a Teacher Recruiter was an educational project that helps both teachers and principals maximize the results of the teacher hiring process based on best practices and more than a decade of on-the-ground experience. I offered more than the traditional myths and platitudes we often hear about the teacher job search. The project launched in the spring of 2013 with the publication of our first book, Confessions of a Teacher Recruiter: How to Create an Extraordinary Resume and Hook Your Dream Job. The book is available on Amazon.com in paperback and ebook at every major book retailer. Released in summer 2013, it has been a bestseller in Amazon's resume category, breaking the top 25 list and ranking higher than more established resume books. Teachers often miss out on amazing career opportunities because they haven’t been taught how to be successful in today’s job market, especially how to claim their full potential and communicate the unique value they can bring to student lives in the language educational leaders want to hear. On the flip side, many school leaders and other recruitment professionals often don’t manage the hiring process well, inadvertently eliminating talent that could positively impact students’ educational achievements. If we eliminated just one missed connection in the hiring process by launching an unexpected teacher/principal relationship that changed a student’s life, the Confessions of a Teacher Recruiter project did its job.
