      Responsible for leading efforts to identify overlapping responsibilities, eliminate redundancy and reduce expenditures within Department of Defense experimental activities. Responsible for building the newly formed organization, and directing the staff of 300 Joint multi-service and Department of Defense civilians and contractors to enhance joint operations among the military services. High profile projects included development of the joint services experimentation process, establishing the Alliance of all Service Battle Labs, and the International Experimentation Program. Collaborated with senior defense officials, defense contractors, civilian agencies, and academia to investigate innovative approaches to warfighting and weapons development. Successfully executed the Secretary of Defense intent for Joint Service Experimentation by working with congressional staffers and representatives to raise the annual budget from 12 to 60 million dollars. Show less Commander of a separate combat Air Defense Brigade responsible for the combat readiness and worldwide deployment of 3000 soldiers and millions of dollars worth of missle systems, communications, and logistical equipment in support of contingency operations. Responsibilities included being the Senior Air and Missile Defense advisor to the III Corps Commander. Combat battalions under my command included five active duty and National Guard battalions and a Combat Support Hospital. Successfully activated a new PATRIOT missile battalion, deployed units to Southwest Asia in support of contingency operations and transitioned the brigade to new barracks, maintenance and headquarters facilities.
