Traveled to perform technical evaluations of LTV aircraft products in the field.Selected from among peers to join a project team on special assignment tasked with the design of a $150 million-dollar computer integrated paperless manufacturing facility named The Flexible Composite Center. Worked with a small team to design the paperless quality system for the new facility and optimize the facility layout. Evaluated purchase specifications and vendor proposals for autoclaves, lab equipment, automated storage and retrieval systems, and automated guided vehicles. Designed the laboratory for the composite center. Worked with a small facility design team to improve flow through the composite center. Member of the ADSTARS team to develop performance specifications for the automated document storage and retrieval system.Held Material Review Authority for Materials and Processes for LTV. Represented the department in Corrective Action Board meetings with the Air Force and Navy.       Currently employed by Columbian in the North Bend Plant, a facility producing commodity and industrial specialty products serving domestic and foreign markets. North Bend operates under the ISO 9001-2000 and ISO 14000 management systems. Managed plant operations and site engineers. Prepared departmental budgets. Participated in labor negotiations during most union contract negotiations. Developed a comprehensive strike contingency plan. Worked to resolve grievances and have worked with others to develop case defenses for labor grievance arbitration cases. Performed in various roles to support capital improvement and expansion projects in excess of $100 million dollars for the North Bend facility. These roles involved design review, project implementation, HAZOP, start up and commissioning, and capital process and project management. Manage a yearly 5 million dollar capital budget. Worked to support design reviews and start up for numerous projects, new operating units, and various types of process equipment. Familiar with pollution control incinerators, dryers, air pre-heaters and other heat exchangers, various styles of bag house filter control equipment, tanks, reactors, pelletizing equipment, conveying systems, bulk storage tanks, and packaging equipment, HRSG, boilers, cooling towers, generators, condensers, steam turbines, and piping systems.Commissioned North Bend’s 15 mega-watt co-generation facility, a $29 million dollar project. Trained operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel for the project.Championed technical innovation, problem solving, root cause and corrective action, and improvement activities. Provided root cause and corrective action for a wide variety of equipment, electrical, safety, and process failures. Recognized as an excellent troubleshooter and problem solver.
