      Case Specialist

As a Paid State Appointed Intern, I data entered a wide variety of Source Documents: (1) Missed Appointments (2) Adjudicated Child Support Orders and (3) Sensitive Sheriff's Orders for Arrest. The entering of Sheriff's Orders really instilled in me a respect for entering the correct coding without exception. My Manager upon hiring stated my daily work production statistics were higher than tenured employees. Duties also included case processing responsibilities which entailed updating the custodial and non-custodial personal data derived from Interviews. I also updated and established on record earned and unearned income derived from employers, unemployment security and workmen compensation payments. As well as verifying income from other government tracking systems. I was also responsible for the national transfer of interstate cases determining jurisdictional routing between the Sheriff's, State's Attorney, The Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County and The Department of Public Aid's Administrative Consent Unit. My Professional verbal training through Toastmaster's International has polished my ability to speak to many claimants following professional cues and protocols to know with whom I am speaking and to address the party with the greatest depth of respect and professionalism. Knowing who I am speaking to, as recognized through technical disability Dig codes learned as a Control and Earnings Reviewer Clerk for the Disability Review Branch, allows me to be more than ordinarily patient or considerate of personal as well as sometimes mental and physical constraints. All with the Goal of not just being considerate or courteous but to "encourage" those who call into "compliance". My statistics will show the multiple transferred calls to my extension in compliance to payment obligations that result in the Agency’s' solvency meriting its own. Even though “Speaking” is one of My best attributes, perfected through years of conversing with Post-entitled and Current-paid recipients of Title 16 and Title 2 trust funds in resolving their Overpayment issues, I know it is paramont for me to pass the Guard of “Knowledge” and Experience galvanized throughout the years. The more that can be rightly classified, processed, resolved and promptly routed, upon initial contact, serves the Agency and all Departments as a whole. Having taught a class of 27 new hires to provide pertinent information for the Debt Specialist to take swifter actions, crafted in the information initially received upon contact via the Department's 1-800 number, I feel I’ve partially succeeded, in having Passed the Torch. In recognition of My efforts in concert with “The Debt Management Contact Rep Training Team,”I was awarded in 2015 "The Deputy Commissioners Team Award “ for My individual contributions cited for Displaying Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills, Teamwork, Flexibility and Commitment in Cultivating and Creating Ways To Develop Trainees’ Knowledge, in The Overpayment Process. Show less My First Federal placement was as an Automated Files Clerk, I prefer Technician, which was the firm foundation upon which the Integrity and Fundamental Necessities of my career were built. I receipted, classified and routed by jurisdictional precedents T16 and T2 claims files: including initial claims, Railroad Board Freeze, and OHA cases. I associated documents for Earnings Work Developments, Medical Reviews for Primaries and Specified Beneficiaries under SSA's Bic coding system for T2 related and cross reference files. Before LANS and PCCACS I took the initiative for RRB claims materials and t16 folders that were not system controlled and created a receipt list and compared them with the inter-office case files pending in a Miscellaneous Holding File. This resulted in a greater number of reversed hearing determinations. I also (receipted) mail daily and prioritized medical documentation for hearing cases. I remember handing a Disability Examiner medical documentation that changed her decision. Ever since then I realized the importance of associating and receipting correspondences from beneficiaries. Unhampered Communication results in more than the Conveying of Information, it truly Aligns and Correlates. I have been privileged to serve as Past President for the Agency's Toastmaster's Club having planned, conducted and hosted workshops in the Agency's auditorium breaking the record of attendance for past projects. I also mentored, coached and assessed speeches for those members newly added from all positions from: Teleservice to Claims Examiners, as well as Consultants with-in the Agency, for those who wanted to polish their verbal skills to better serve. In honoring the Agency as well, I've won speaking contest, competing among the Corporate Clubs in the downtown area. I strive to represent the Agency in the highest light and for me communication has always been key. Show less
