      Veterans Behavioral Health Director

       Promoted to supervise the Veterans Behavioral Health Program to include staff, veteran treatment courts community resources, provide support to veterans, and monitor progress in the court process; establish and maintain relationships with individuals present at court.  Manage the Veterans’ Court Mentoring Team of 12 employees and select & train peer mentors for the program. Connect veterans and family members to local resources, refer to appropriate organizations/programs for VA benefits and assistance, transition issues, and suicide prevention. Organize group events for participants of the Veterans’ Court Peer Mentor Program and family members. Promote veteran socialization in a positive, drug- and alcohol-free environment in accordance to the program to encourage veterans and build a sense of community.  Oversee the management of grant funds and contracts with other organizations in collaboration with the program to meet all requirements of funding and ensure distribution of funds are being used effectively. Convene community stakeholders in advisory committees, collaborative work groups, learning communities, and other endeavors relevant to veteran’s behavioral health. Provide community outreach through presentations, participation in community meetings, and visits to corporations and local organizations.       NADCP is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to educating and offering technical assistance to Drug Court, DWI Court, and Veterans Treatment Court professionals. As a consultant, I support the Justice for Vets division as a speaker and educator in their series of technical assistance offered to Veteran Treatment Courts across the nation.

      As the Director of Alumni Engagement for The Mission Continues, I will build strategies and plans to ensure the more than 2300 current (and future) program alumni are informed, connected and supported as they continue to develop their skills and experiences as community-based leaders. I will create systems and platforms to enable alumni voices are incorporated into strategic and executional decision making. I will also ensure that each veteran’s journey with The Mission Continues is reflective of our core values and culture even after their involvement in programs. Show less
