      Helping moms thrive and babies get a great start in life. Lead work of of Friends of NYC Nurse Family partnership. Friends provides financial support to expand services and offer moms means to pursue educational opportunities. In 3 years, we’ve been able to double our fundraising, add new programs and partnerships and hire a team of part time dedicated professionals that are committed to improving maternal health. I love what we do and I am excited to have you learn more about our work. We believe moms need a village and know what they need to help their families thrive. We are there to provide support. We support moms in the NYC NFP program through scholarships, emergency funds, learning workshops for mom and baby, career development and mental health. We also provide professional development for nurses.We are currently recruiting on our board. We have an amazing, growing board. Show less

Paper was entitled "Moving from the Darkness to the Light: Reflections of Muslim Feminists" and covered my experience working at the Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and doing a fundraiser that spoke to the realities of how Muslim Americans regard domestic violence and how that culture speaks to the issue.
