      May 2007 - Oct 2009
      Store Manager

I managed, trained, and scheduled up to 15 employees at a time and ordered all of the products needed in a very bustling environment. During the summer season my staff and I did over $20,000 in sales a week while executing great customer service. My team and I increased sales by an average of 9% each year.

      Sept 2011 - Feb 2012
      Graduate Student Assistant

I checked-in print periodical issues using the Millennium Serials module (Innovative Interfaces Inc., aka III) and created item records for each item at time of check-in. I processed bound serial volumes, which included affixing call number labels to the spines and created item records for pre-1987 bound periodical volumes as part of the ongoing Periodical Barcoding Project.

I planned and managed the day-to-day operations of the branch with customer service as a top priority. I am experienced with training, motivating and coaching team members. I actively promote the use of the Library including developing collaborative relationships with community, professional groups, and individuals by being actively engaged with the community. I am passionate about Library policy and procedure and strive to have my team deliver consistent customer service. I prioritize the needs of the library and branch, and schedule branch staff accordingly. I have the ability to demonstrate courtesy, tact, and effectiveness in dealing with all patrons and staff, in all situations, to deliver an excellent customer experience. Show less I planned and managed the day-to-day operations of the Branch in the absence of the manager. This was a new position and provided me with a lot of substantial Cleveland Public Library management experience. The supervision I provided included planning and directing the work of staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and coaching staff members. I created and maintained staff schedules, including vacation time and any over time. I was apart of the Instagram social media team for the library and it's branches to promote The Cleveland Public Library. Show less I planned, coordinated and implemented age appropriate activities for youth and teens with their caregivers. My programs were very hands on and some examples are: Make your own Tu-Tu's, No-bake cooking, and lots of arts and crafts. I advocated for the interests and needs of children and youth in the area and conducted numerous Library tours and class visits. I had on average 10 story times a week. I increased my passion and knowledge for collection development by maintaining the children's and teen materials. I also had the opportunity to weed all of the branches materials and enjoyed the challenge. Lastly I was frequently the "lead worker" and in charge of staff and the day-to-day operations of the branch. A specific duty of being the "lead worker" included managing meeting room reservations.
