This was an amazing experience where I got to learn about business, operations and marketing from the likes of Google, BBC Studios, Virgin Media, Enterprise, Gartner, Nestle, British Airways, Lidl and Bright Network. This intern experience has given me an insight into business operations ad marketing as I had the opportunity to create a marketing strategy for a small florist wanting to expand into a new city in the UK (case study) for Google.

      Promoting the benefits of doing a placement year and all forms of work experience, encouraging students to consider the options available to them whilst at University. This promotion included featuring in digital content about my experience. Work with the Employability Team to design and deliver a series of talks to share my placement experience/work experience. Topics included but not be limited to application processes, my motivations and reflections on my experience. Encourage Level 1 SUMS students to engage with the Employability Team and Careers Service by supporting the delivery of MGT11001: Futures First Level 1 module. Work with Dr Sarah Brooks to raise awareness of the opportunities available to students. Provide 1-2-1 support as a mentor to Level 2 students applying for or interested in placements/work experience, signposting them to additional support when appropriate. Provide informal mentoring to students that are on placement in 2023/2024, and encourage them to keep in touch with the university and one another. This included leading a LinkedIn group and sharing your experience or tips. Being involved in the development of employability support for Sheffield University Management School students through discussions with the Employability Team.
