  As a wellsite geologist subcontracted through RPS Energy, I am in charge of geologic sample descriptions collected during the drilling portion of a horizontal well in the Marcellus Shale region of the United States. I also interpret and analyze gamma ray data that is provided from sub surface drilling tools. Interpreting this data allows me to locate the subsurface layer that is currently being drilled and thus know what inclination and azimuth changes, if any, are necessary.
