  A 5-day work experience placement at Goodwin Procter LLP in their London, Cheapside office offered an introduction into various areas of commercial law, such as: Real Estate, Private Equity, Tax and Finance. I obtained insight into the firm's culture, valuable team working skills, the level of interaction between offices (including those within the US), working lifestyle, and the type of transactions dealt with daily within a city law firm.

  Two days shadowing Paul Nicholls KC involved sitting in on, spectating, and later discussing a High Court case in the Royal Courts of Justice. This offered me valuable insights with respect to the operation of the courtroom, advocacy skills, as well as the work that goes into a high-level civil law case behind the scenes.

  Throughout the 3-week Vacation Scheme I sat in the Global Transactions department with Corporate Team D. I completed various administrative and research tasks for my Associate Supervisor. As well as this, I completed a number of simulated tasks alongside my Vacation Scheme cohort. More generally, I gained invaluable insight into the daily operations of a Magic Circle law firm, the tasks I would be expected to complete as a trainee solicitor at an international law firm, and the core values of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
