  Responsible in leading research activities and developing expertise in energy technology at UTP. Leading over 55 multi-disciplinary members who are lecturers in Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering and also Fundamental & Applied Science. Reporting to Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation) on aspiration, plan, activities and progress of the group. Promoting research activities among members and students, which is in line with the government's effort in increasing research activities and manpower in research. Conduct regular interaction with members in order to boost the quantity and quality of research in the area of energy at UTP via increase in the number of research grants, publications, innovation awards, postgraduate students in support of the university's vision in becoming a centre for creativity and innovation.
