  Occ Rehab

  My full time placement at Rocket Rehab was the cornerstone of my Master of Occupational Therapy clinical placements. Over 8 weeks I engaged with a caseload of clients in an Assistant OT Consultant role. I contributed to a variety of return to work strategies and stages, as I attended Medical and specialist Case Confrence’s, and Tactical File Reviews with Rehabilitation and Insurance Case Managers. I developed knowledge and applications of SIRA and Work Cover legislation. I received Senior Level 3 OT supervision and Rehabilitation Psychology mentorship. In this capacity, I collaborated in the issuing of evidence- based clinical assessments: Initial, Needs, Workplace, Vocational, and Activity of Daily Living Assessments. I valued the processes of client-centered engagement with workers and employees to collaborate on constructing the graded return to work goals to achieve safety throughout the stages of recovery. I assisted in developing of smart goals, I summarised the rehabilitation progress of the return to work strategies and treatment pathways. I documented the durable outcomes in case closure reports when the clients return to work objectives were achieved. I contributed to quality Occupational Rehabilitation industry standards; I found the role to be dynamic, fast paced, and rewarding, as I practiced in an assistant OT capacity amongst leading industry professionals and clinical teams.
