      Served as the principal staff officer for the Adjutant General for aviation and safety matters. Responsible for the development and oversight of aviation training, standardization, and operations as well as safety programs within the Connecticut Army National Guard. Reviews, coordinates, and provides command guidance and approves aviation mission requests from state and federal agencies. Coordinates with National Guard Bureau Aviation & Safety Division (NGB-AVS), Aviation & Missile Command (AMCOM), Communications & Electronics Command (CECOM), Army Material Command (AMC), United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAAVCE), United States Army Combat Readiness Center/Safety Center, and other state and federal agencies. Forecasts and manages the budget for Aviation and Safety to include fuel, training, maintenance, and flight hours. Supervisors and mentors the Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) Commander, aviation leaders, junior officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Soldiers with the Connecticut Army National Guard. Serves and coordinates as a member of the joint staff for Military Support to Civil Authorities (MSCA) missions at the state and federal level. Maintains proficiency and currency as a Pilot-in-Command of the UH-1H/V Iroquois helicopter and as a Pilot-in-Command and Maintenance Test Pilot in the UH-60A/L Black Hawk helicopter. Day-to-Day mission was to support the 14 Northeast States and the District of Columbia, 23 Army Aviation Support Facilities, consisting of 72 Aviation units, with over 350 helicopters for logistics and intermediate & depot aviation maintenance support. Provided support to aircraft and units prior to mobilization to prepare for war. Post mobilization, provided support to RESET the fleet for future requirements. Supervised,and managed an $80 million repair parts budget and over $15 million in payroll. Supervised/Commanded a force of over 300 full-time Soldiers and Contractors and 150 traditional National Guard Soldiers.
