      Development Engineer, Flight Test Technician

      Starting out as an apprentice working in Rolls-Royces gas turbine business I completed 9 months of basic practical engineering training including welding, component assembly, hand fitting, milling and turning. Over the course of the next 3 years I completed a number of office based business placements in different areas of the Civil Aerospace business. Upon completion of the apprenticeship I assumed the role of Flight Test Technician. Shortly after graduating from university I was promoted to Development Engineer working to validate and verify the Trent 1000 compressor components for the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This was a diverse role with a high level of responsibility that enabled me to develop a broad engineering understanding as well as strong organisation, communication and project management skills.       My role was to Skipper 44 – 49ft Bavaria Cruisers with up to 9 guests for one week holidays around Greece. As well as taking charge of and running the yacht, the role also required me to provide breakfast and lunch for guests. I was also responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organising yacht maintenance.

      La Kinkerne is an Après Bar, Restaurant and 20 Bed Hotel located in the ski resort of Morzine, France. I was responsible for the day to day running of the venue including managing a team of 9 staff, managing stock levels for the bar, pricing of beverages and bar snacks, maintenance and operation of the till system, running regular après events, ensuring high standards of cleanliness throughout the venue, managing the hotel including; bookings, changeovers, laundry, guest liaison and guest satisfaction, resolving maintenance issues for the property, social media, working with the Head Chef to update and re-price the menu.During my time at La Kinkerne we worked in partnership with Monster Energy to put on the Sun:Sets series of Après parties. Hosting 3 events throughout March and April the final event culminated in over 600 party-goers attending with BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard headlining the event. I worked with the Monster events crew overseeing the build of the stage, Monster Bar and Marque. On the day of each event I was responsible for the overall running of the event including; staffing, bar stock, token bar, cash pulls, security, BBQ and toilets. Show less

Design, draughting and procurement of various tooling jigs and fixtures including complex mechanical assembly jigs to position components to tight tolerances.Design of vacuum trim jigs and injection moulding tooling. Design of fabricated structures. Design of cure cycles for thick laminates (>15mm) to control exotherm whilst meeting required laminate properties. Expeirenced Siemens NX user including advanced surface modelling. Other CAD experience includes Rhino, Solidworks and PTC Creo.Production of ply kits, lay-up books and work instructions. Inspection of moulds, parts and assemblies to datums using Polyworks Software in conjuction with Leica AT960 Tracker (CMM), LAS XL Scanner and T-Probe.Trained and Experienced in Implementation of GD&T to ASME Y14.5.
