  Yasenka Peterson, Associate Dean, College of Health and Human Services, Indiana State UniversityResponsibilities included curriculum revisions, accreditation, program assessment, summer budget, and faculty workload for the College. She served on several University committees such is the Inclusive Excellence committee. Dr. Peterson has been teaching since 1992 in the health education field. Dr. Peterson has also taught at Texas Woman’s University, Lynchburg College (VA), and at Southeastern Louisiana University. Courses taught include program planning, program evaluation, nutrition education, substance abuse prevention, sex education, mental health and stress management, school health methodology, school health curriculum, research methods, and educational methods in health and safety.Dr. Peterson also served on several Boards of Directors and on committees in the community. Agencies Dr. Peterson worked with include the Indiana Public Health Association, the Society for Public Health Education, the Minority Health Coalition, Chances for Indiana Youth, the Indiana Society for Public Health Education, and the Vigo County School Corporation. Dr. Peterson is a member of the American Public Health Association and the Society for Public Health. Dr. Peterson has published and presented on a variety of health topics such as substance abuse prevention, teaching self-efficacy, condom use self-efficacy, tobacco use among college students, and body image issues.
