  Manufacturing Engineer

  Junior Engineer in charge of the wet process operations (degreasing, etching, and titrations) related to an electroplating operation and waste water treatment plant. Supervised daily operations involving electrochemical processes which included nickel sulphamate / sulfate operations, 90/10 Tin/Lead and 100 % Tin surface finishes, alodine conversions, Alloy 42 / Copper annealing, and sintering process. Participated actively in the transfer operation of the manufacturing site from Zona Franca Metro to Asunción de Heredia. Afterwards, promoted to Senior Engineer and in parallel performed as production supervisor for the raw component manufacturing area. Supervised up to 3 production shifts and 70 people including direct reports and supervisors; meanwhile supported the engineering department with a Brazing process. Promoted to Specialist Engineer and led the EU´s RoHS project implementation and REACH initiative. Developed a solid 6 Sigma and LEAN education which in return led to different activities such as KAIZEN and KAIZEN BLITZ events which improved productive and manufacturing processes. Vis mindre

  Starting Nov. 2015, assigned as the engineering manager (II) in charge of the Diagnostics & Ablation Catheters products transferred from San Jose California. Currently, managing a group of 6+ engineers and 10+ product lines including class II/III FDA products. Responsible for business metrics such as budget planning, execution, and control. Furthermore, continue to develop human capital through Statistics and Problem Solving technique coaching. Dec. 2014 to Nov. 2015, Engineering manager (I) on temporary assignment, at San Jose, CA. Main responsibilities as the Bay Area Engineering Manager (Fremont/San Jose) included accomplishing/supporting business metrics such as VIPs, NCEP/CAPA, internal/external audits, and project execution. Responsibilities also involved coaching and monitoring performance of twenty one (21) professionals; while simultaneously minimizing attrition rates due to plant shutdown. Provided training support to Fremont, San Jose, and Los Gatos M-Sites as Statistics trainer under the BSC Engineering Essentials Roadmap. June 2013 – Nov. 2014, assigned as engineering manager who coordinated daily sustaining activities among a multidisciplinary group of engineers (10); plus kept track of specific tasks related to local and global projects. Also, constantly reviewed and challenged engineers in order to obtain better results that added value to the team’s performance. May 2012 – to June 2013, hired as a principal manufacturing engineer; focused on implementing, supporting, and coaching younger engineers in the use of statistical tools, validations, and execution of saving opportunities to overcome difficulties and improve current manufacturing processes.
