      I was a member of the Royal Corps Of Signals where I was a team member then a team leader, I was employed as a telecommunication radio specialist.My Duties were but not limited toUpkeep of radio communications. I had to maintain and fault repair and equipment issue reports on a daily basis and log keeping. During my time in the army I was made Team Leader Responsible for;Sighting of vehicle mass and antennas, liaising with Directors and Managers. I briefed department managers on the state of the communications network. I was also responsible for the control and administration of 6 other team members. During this time, I also worked as a Team Leader in United Nations Peacekeeping Headquarters in Bosnia.       The duties of this role were the delivery of technical support solutions to the Field, including the Technical Assistance Centre and effective mobilisation of maintenance support contracts. The provision of Network Support Services input to contract bids and to provide on-site technical support to the Front Line Maintenance team and regional support engineers. Overseeing and co-ordinating the implementation of upgrades and modification work on customer networks.       Responsible for project management activities, including liaison with the customer local representatives. Responsible for achieving the key success criteria for my region and ensuring that all the requirements of the specification are met on time and to budget.       Responsible for the successful operation of the instrumentation department during the surveys. I also supervise and train other members in the department and appraise subordinates. Ultimately responsible for quality control of the data and equipment within the department, I ensure that standards and required upgrades / improvements are implemented across my department and I am required to maintain and cost control the on board inventory, spare part and purchase systems within the department to make sure that budgetary requirements were met. On a daily basis it is required that I liaise with other department chiefs and on-board client representative to ensure smooth operation for the duration of the survey. In cases of multi vessel operation whilst on the master vessel I am responsible for the instrument department on all vessels in the operation thus ensuring that the survey is delivered on time and within budget and without any HSEQ issues for the entire survey.I have taken an active part in rigging and upgrades and planning of these, this is a large task during a yard stay for example where I had to ensure that my department worked as efficiently as possible and kept within budget. Part of my responsibility is to monitor and provide input to the R&D project on operational/ usability/ HSE aspects of the product. I am further responsible for all operational aspects of field-tests and for the “Product Introduction” process from an Operational point of view. I planned and executed 2 field tests of the new product which included all logistical requirements, HSE documentation in line with COVID-19 constraints, all field engineer resources, writing and implementing test plans relevant to the product. I was responsible for the supervision of up to three crewmembers on my shift where my main duties were for the quality control of the data and equipment whilst on shift, ensuring logs and forms are updated correctly, assist in the maintenance of inventory, spare part and purchase systems within the department. Liase with other shift managers and the on board client representatives to ensure that if there were any issues these were dealt with immediately to minimise down time and maximise productivity during the shift. I am required to assist other departments when necessary with maintenance and repair of equipment. I am to ensure safe and efficient deployment and recovery of all in sea equipment. I have to look for ways to improve the current systems and implement these improvements. I am required to participate in the companies training program. One of the main requirements is for HSE responsibility and accountability, reporting all incidents, ensuring all work instructions and procedures are adhered to. I am to promote the belief that all injuries are preventable and accept that HSE is a line management responsibility and being accountable for all persons working in or passing through a work area for all tasks carried out within my area of responsibility. Ensure that procedures and work instructions are correct for the safe management of tasks, writing and reviewing Job Safety Analysis documentation and making sure that these are known and understood and followed by all within the department. Advising the Party Chief or Master of any issues in a timely manner. Promoting the use of SAFE cards within the department with a focus on intervention so as to make sure no unsafe acts are carried out. I had to know how to operate and assist in maintenance and repair of equipment within the department also assist where necessary with other departments on board with repair and maintenance of their equipment. I had to undertake back deck work, which could involve lengthy deployments of 14 day for up to 12 hours a day 7 days a week this included deployment and recovery of all in sea equipment. I was always looking for ways to improve the current systems and implement these improvements. I have to participate in the companies training program.
