  Year Up is a non-profit organization whose goal is to help close the opportunity divide. They help do this by taking young adults age 18-24 and training them in the IT field for a year. The first 5 months are training and then the next 6 months are an internship. Year Up has had great success and in the Bay Area they have helped over 600 students in just 5 years with 86% of graduates going back to school or landing a job in 4 months after graduation. Currently I'm in the training portion taking classes in Informational Technology, Professional Skills and Business Communication.
