Was merged with Penguin Group following a take over in 1999 by Pearson.Worked on many best-selling children’s book series including The Eyewitness Guides and the My First series. Moved into digital with early CD-ROM titles including Ultimate Dinosaur and The World. Was part of the team that built DK.com, which made all the titles available online as downloadable files.       A boutique, digital agency focussed on integrated campaigns using complex flash games, email marketing and SMS technology. Moved into larger site builds and the development of proprietary software for authoring HTML email. Grew the business from a zero start into team of ten. Was a completely self-funded and self-sufficient business from day one. Was responsible for all creative output in a client facing role as well as generating new business and sales.Clients included:• Reckitt Benckiser: Produced a large-scale, integrated email and SMS reverse messaging campaign to re-launch the world’s bestselling depilatory brand as Veet – formerly known as Immac• Pernod Ricard: Produced a series of award-winning HTML email campaigns featuring virally powered microsites for Aberlour whisky achieving 60%+ open rates and 30%+ CTR• Jarlsberg: Produced a series of award-winning HTML email campaigns featuring beautiful Flash games promoting Jarlsberg cheese in the UK market.       A technology-driven, digital media agency, providing both B2C and B2B communications services. Focussed on redefining rich media display advertising to any screen or device utilising data visualisation, utilities and OTT video applications. Revenues peaked at +£500k per annum.Incorporated from a zero start, self-funding the growth of the company into self-sustainable business within 6 months. Conceptualised, designed and oversaw the development of several software products. Brought the products to market through generating partnerships with major global agencies and publishers. The software we built formed a part of several international campaigns that won a host awards.Clients included:• LEGO DUPLO: Conceptualised, planned and executed one of the first integrated, video display and social media campaigns. The campaign featured editable product catalogues and engaging videos. The campaign was targeted at dads and achieved an average interaction rate of 8%, an average interaction time of 4mins and generated competition over 1,200 entries.• Vodafone McLaren Mercedes: Conceptualised and created an online display ad that ran for 4 years using the same unit that featured live telemetry from the cars and commentary from the pit lane. In excess of 500m impressions and +30mins average exposure time.• Shell: Built the first single, multi-device unit built out in JavaScript and HTML5 featuring a syndicated You Tube player recording plays on the Shell Helix You Tube channel.• Johnnie Walker: Delivered a live content channel inside display advertising featuring Jenson Button answering questions about his life and career.       The One Show Gold Pencil The One Show May 2010 The Gold Pencil was awarded to Work Club for work on the official Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Website featuring all the latest news and information about the Formula 1 team, drivers Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and Gary Paffett, the McLaren Group and associated activities. This Is Open devised and produced the distributed media unit which was featured on the home page of the site and was a huge media first.
