  DCAC Fitness Conventions Inc. organizes and produces fitness conventions and expos/trade shows in the USA. We provide continuing education and certification opportunities to people in the fitness, wellness and health fields. We cater mostly to Group Exercise Instructors, Personal Trainers, Aquatic Fitness, Yoga and Pilates instructors, and general fitness enthusiasts. Our events are held every year in Washington DC (1200 attendees) and Houston Texas (600 attendees). In addition to offering hundreds of continuing education sessions taught by professionals in the industry, our conferences include huge fitness expos where fitness related business can sell and promote their products. I had many roles that included complete event planning with hotel, hiring and managing event staff, presenter travel, trade show management, business goal setting and overseeing all operations. I sold my half of the company in February 2011 to Jamie C. Nichols, one of our staff members since 1994. Show less

A 10,000 s.f. full service health and wellness center offering fitness facilities, classes, programs, health and nutrition counseling, personal training, senior citizen exercise courses, youth and childrens programs and child care. I started the company in 1993 when I was 24 years old, ran, managed, and oversaw all operations for 12 years and then sold the business and building to an employee, Marty Rowe in 2005.

  The Boyd Group of VA is a Class A Licensed, Commercial General Contracting firm, established in 1997, bonded and insured for projects up to 2 million dollars. We have done everything from commercial development projects from the ground up, to tenant up-fit, churches, church additions, many medical office spaces, strip mall store/office redesigns, and numerous sport and recreation projects. A small part of our business is residential, as we occasionally build custom homes, backyard basketball/tennis/sport courts, detached garages and pool houses. While I have assisted the firm for many years, due to the dramatic increase in business I have taken on more responsibilities. Since 2012 we have found ourselves in a niche market of building and refurbishing recreation areas. For example, building, repairing and resurfacing tennis courts, basketball courts, pavilions, mini-golf courses, etc. Homeowners, Homeowners Associations, RV Parks, campgrounds, schools, parks and private clubs have found our services to be extremely helpful as we can do just about anything they need to build up or spruce up their recreation areas. My personal responsibilities at The Boyd Group of VA are to meet with potential customers, suppliers and buyers, network in the community and market our services through direct mail, social media, our website, and Houzz.   Wings of Hope Ranch

  Jane Yancey and I co-founded Wings of Hope Ranch in 2006 which is a 501c3 Non profit organization. We are faith based and our mission is two fold. We rescue negelected or injured horses and rehabilitate them. Then we use the horses to minister to children in our community who are facing challenges and conflicts in their lives. The horses can illustrate and teach valuable lessons like forgiveness and unconditional love to the children as the rescue horses learn to trust humans again. We meet with the children, one adult, one horse, one child at a time. We provide these services free to the community and rely on private donations and grants to keep the ranch functioning. I am currently the Executive Director that reports to a 7 member professional board of directors who make all the decisions relating to the ranch. I oversee all operations including the scheduling of volunteers, ranchers (children who attend), fundraising, event planning, grant writing, horse care, tax related issues and public relations.   Alison joined the HelmsBriscoe team in 2012. She has worked in the Health and Fitness field for 20 years, highlighted by owning her own fitness center for 12 years and running an international fitness education conference for 18 years. In 2008, Alison became a HelmsBriscoe client and discovered the benefits of having an HB associate assist with the site selection and contract negotiations for her fitness conferences. Having such a positive experience as a client, Alison decided to join HelmsBriscoe as an associate after selling her conference business in 2011. Alison aspires to save her clients time and money by doing the leg work in their event planning process. She will listen carefully to your needs and do the research necessary to find the best venue for your meeting, all the while exceeding your expectations.   Dave Brat for Congress Campaign Scheduler

  Temporarily hired and employed by the Dave Brat for Congress Campaign as Dr. Brat's scheduler. Beginning with his legendary primary win against Eric Cantor through the November 4, 2014 General Election, it is an honor and pleasure to serve the campaign and the candidate during this exciting election season. My duties include keeping track of all appointments, meetings and events for Dr. Dave Brat as he is on the campaign trail. In addition to handling the candidates schedule, I also assign all the campaign drivers and aids to daily assignments, mentor a small group of high school/college interns, and work closely with all the other campaign staff to make sure all aspects of the office run smoothly. Dave Brat won the election on November 4th 2014 and now serving bravely as our Virginia 7th district representative. I feel honored to have participated in this campaign and finish the assignment with a victory for Congressman Dave Brat! I look forward to working on the next campaign when he runs for re-election in 2 years. Show less
