  I undertook a variety of different jobs whilst working for Leicestershire County Council. I processed planning applications for LCC owned properties, including those that required listed building consent. I contributed to the Buildings at Risk register for the county. I was in charge of maintaining the Heritage GIS database. I also helped organise and publicise events held at Country Parks within the county, for example the annual battle re-enactment at Bosworth Battlefield.

  Strata Florida Trust

  From 2019 to 2021 I was Operational Director at the Strata Florida Trust. In July 2016 the Strata Florida Trust purchased the historic buildings which until recently formed the working core of Great Abbey Farm (also known as Mynachlog Fawr). They lie just to the south of the Strata Florida Abbey ruins which are currently in the guardianship of Cadw who open them to the public. The main farmhouse is a grade II* listed building and contains significant architectural elements reflecting the sites whole history. The other farm buildings are grade II and date from the later C17 to the late C19.The Trust is carrying forward the aims of the Strata Florida Project, creating the basis for the long-term activities which will sustain the buildings once conserved and sensitively developed. The intention is to create the Strata Florida Centre/Canolfan Ystrad Fflur which will reflect and respect the history of the site and its landscapes, whether through Welsh culture, spirituality, well-being, archaeology, skills training or other. It will also serve the interests of the local and regional community and economy through cultural and environmental tourism, as well as providing jobs and engaging in the need for relevant skills provision in the community.
