  I recorded all construction activities which led to the creation of "Marker Wadden" in a work log. Marker Wadden is an artificial island archipelago which is part of a National Park. I also made a flora inventory of the entire archipelago.

  In my first term, I taught anatomy to bachelor students using a rat as an animal model. In my second term, I supervised students in a microbiology practical. I primarily taught the students how to work in a microbiological lab under sterile conditions.

  Seasonal work which required going to predetermined urban areas to perform quickscans for bats using a bat detector. Quickscans included recording species and number of bats (and other threatened fauna species), and recording (potential) nesting and roosting places. Following the quickscan, I collected the data into a standardized report for the client.

  I did a population study of the endangered Tree Geebung (Persoonia arborea), a small tree endemic to the Central Highlands of Victoria, in the face of disturbances related to wildfire and forest logging.

  Outreach Officer

  I was mainly involved with outreach of the MiCRop and MicroHealth projects, which included managing the websites (microp.org and microhealth.nl), writing and publishing news articles and the biannual newsletter, creating content for and managing the social media channels, creating and editing videos for YouTube, contributing to the development of a teaching module and an associated VR-game, and representing both projects on educational platforms like schools and science fairs. As part of the MiCRop management team, I also played a supporting role in making sure everything at MiCRop and Microhealth is running smoothly. Show less
