  Upon joining NIG (Commercial Insurance arm of DLG) in 2009, I was employed as a part-time Clerical Assistant outside of University terms (Christmas & Summer). Once my University studies had been completed, I was promoted to a full-time Assistant Underwriter. This experience over a 4 year period gave me a well grounded understanding of insurance principles and the Market.For both roles I was expected to be able to manage my workloads effectively during high volume periods and combine this with providing assistance to the team around me and effectively communicate to our customers. Additionally, I was responsible for the training and development of new clerical staff members where I showed the initiative to create training manual for future starters. Show less
