      Electrical Engineer

      In 1989, I started work at RFETS as an Electrical Engineer for the Plutonium Recovery Modification Project (PRMP the scope of which involved the construction of a new plutonium processing facility. In 1990, I transitioned over to the Duct Remediation Project which removed, packaged and disposed of over 42,000 grams of Plutonium waste within the facility process ventilation systems. From 1993 to 1996, I served as the site Project Engineer for RCRA Closure including the closure of 267 mixed residue waste tanks. In 1996, this project transition into the HEUN and Raschig Ring Removal Project which removed and disposed 15,000 lbs. of highly radioactive contaminated waste. From 1998 to 2004 I served as the Operations Center Lead and Maintenance Manager for three major Plutonium Processing Facilities. Show less

      Project Manager for the Hazard Reduction and Wing Closure Project at the CMR facility. Successfully shut-down programmatic laboratory operations, deactivated and removed all contaminated process equipment from 240,000 sqft. of laboratory space. Provide strong technical project direction by leading a team by leading a team of Engineers, Crafts and Support personnel to successfully complete project milestones. Responsible for the safe and efficient performance of all phases of the project from up-front planning to implementation to closeout. Responsible for effective integration and control of all Project elements including scope, schedule, and cost through applying project baseline management methodologies. Develop project policies, procedures, and subsystems for program control including planning, work breakdown structure(s), scheduling, resource estimating, baseline definition and maintenance, work authorization, acquisition, strategy/business management, budget formulation and execution, change control, contingency management, variance analysis, performance reporting and measurement including earned value reporting, and database management and system integration for schedule and cost data. Ensure that project management system is in full compliance with all Federal, State and the Department of Energy (DOE) Requirements as provided by DOE Orders and directives.
