  Provided radiation therapy treatments to Saudi military men and their families.This radiation therapy department at the time was very small, consisting of one Siemen's 4MV linear accelerator and one conventional simulator. It was a 'get-back-to-the-basics' professional experience. However, the radiation oncologists were top-notch, as were my American coworkers.

Worked amongst a multinational group within the radiation oncology department.Living as a (single) woman in Saudi Arabia meant being housed in a women-only housing complex, wearing the traditional abaya, and not being able to drive, to list a few of the many culturally restrictive rules. However, expatriate life was fantastic and provided lots of social opportunities, new friends and lots of travel with like-minded, interesting people. Show less
