  I left Nationwide Access shortly after I finished my apprenticeship to join The Platform Company.I joined The Platform Company as a breakdown/mobile fitter where my main duties were the general maintenance, repair and servicing of their powered access fleet.

  I joined AFI as breakdown/mobile fitter where my main duties were the maintenance, repair and servicing of their powered access fleet.I was signed off and deemed competent to carry out internal thorough examinations in accordance with LOLER on their machines.

  Senior Plant Mechanic

  I joined Venture access in the role of Senior Plant Mechanic where I was in charge of the general repair and maintenance of the powered access fleet, but also carrying out the thorough examinations of the MEWPS in accordance with LOLER.

  Carrying out the duties of the Inspection and Test Manager for one of the County’s largest Plant Hire companies. Ensuring all tower/mobile/crawler/gantry cranes, excavators, forklifts/telehandlers, MEWPS and general lifting equipment/accessories are in date for Thorough Examination. Offering guidance and technical advice to internal and external sites on LOLER, PUWER and general lifting requirements. I also manage and maintain the departments UKAS accreditation as a type C independent inspection body.• Overseeing the daily running of the departments seven lifting equipment inspectors.• Continually looking to improve the standards and productivity of the Inspection and Test department.• Managing and maintaining the departments UKAS accreditation. Which includes the continuous training and development of the engineer surveyors.• Development and delivery of training including written inspection procedures for specific types of equipment.• Issuing prohibitions and improvement notices to sites and depots for faulty and defective equipment.• Carrying out inspections of equipment, including gantry cranes, excavators, forklifts/telehandlers, MEWPS and general lifting equipment/accessories.• Attend regular LEEA technical meetings as the company’s representative (I hold a seat on the LEEA Technical Committee). • The production of Written Scheme of examination for both LOLER and PUWER.• Ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements are current and communicated to all concerned.
