  Student Mentor of two different groups of 10-15 first year students. One group is enrolled in Math and the other is enrolled in the Math/Physics dual program. My job is to familiarize them with the University and to teach them study skills.

  Institute of Physics paid summer internship

  In July I am participating in the Paid Summer Internship of the Institute of Physics at the University of Amsterdam. Together with 2 other Master students, we will do a research project led by Dr. Ben Freivogel, who is in the Amsterdam Cosmology Group.In classical physics, all energy densities are always non-negative. This has important consequences, as for example the Penrose singularity theorem which implies that Black Holes have singularities. In Quantum Field Theory negative energy densities can occur, which allow for exotic geometries like wormholes. Still little is known about to which extent the average energy density over some region can be negative and almost all known bounds are for non-interacting theories. In this project we will try to calculate the lower bound for some simple interacting QFTs. Show less

  At Haganum, students have the possibility to stay at school after their classes in order to work on their homework in a quiet environment. Together with other university students I help them with planning their week and I can answer questions about their mathematics and physics classes.
