Projects included:SEA Gas Underground Pipeline: One of the most important energy infrastructure projects in Australia, designed to meet the needs of a range of energy providers in South Australia and Victoria. A. J. Lucas formed a joint venture with Spie Capag to create the SpieCapagLucas JV as the head contractor to deliver the $500 million D&C project. Held a key role in the successful tendering process and was responsible for all preconstruction activities including all statutory documentation required for the attainment of the construction certificate including all Project Management Plans and preconstruction documentation.Lihir Gold: Located on an island in New Ireland Province of Papua New Guinea (PNG), 900 kilometres north-east of Port Moresby. The gold deposit is within an extinct volcanic crater that is geothermally active, and is one of the largest known gold deposits in the world. Dean lived onsite and was involved with the deep ocean outfall construction undertaken by Clough Engineering.Goldfields Gas Transmission (GGT) Project: Provides north-east Pilbara and the heart of the Goldfields with gas from the North West via a 1380 kilometre natural gas pipeline. The pipeline traverses more than two-thirds of the State and is the second longest pipeline in Western Australia. Residing in mobile camps during the construction, my involvement was with the hydrostatic pressure testing of the pipeline.Santos Gas Pipeline Project: Responsible for the on and off site project management for the installation of two high pressure natural gas regulation stations.Sydney Gas Pipeline Project: Planned and managed all aspects of the construction of a 7km gas pipeline.
