Appointed by and report directly to 4-member bipartisan (2 Democrats and 2 Republicans) board accountable for carrying out general conduct of elections. Supervise a full-time and seasonal workforce of 250 employees, in addition to recruiting, training, and placement of 5,000 Election Day precinct election officials.Oversee departments that include Voter Services, Absentee, Election Operations, Precinct Election Officials, IT, Warehouse/Logistics, Petitions and Campaign Finance, and Community Affairs/Public Information. Develop proposed annual budgets for submission to county commissioners. Monitor Board’s budget and payroll relative to current year appropriations.Administer Election Day polling locations, ensuring compliance with ADA requirements. Produce Election Day ballots/media and prepare Election Day voting equipment allocations. Test electronic poll booths and oversee post-election recounts and audits. Monitor vote tabulation. Maintain voter records and processing incoming voter registration applications. Manage Early Voter Center for in-person voting. Maintain and store voting equipment adhering to strict security requirements; arrange transportation to and from 309 polling locations county-wide.
