    • Canadian Coast Guard

      Apr 2006 - Sept 2008
      Fast Rescue Craft Boat Crew

From 2006 through 2008 I had the great fortune of being employed by the Canadian Coast Guard as an Inshore Rescue Lifeboatman on the Atlantic Coast. During our seasonal deployments, my teams and I provided primary response to all manner of maritime emergencies. I was promoted to the position of Coxswain of the Shediac Inshore Rescue Station where I was responsible for the running and operations of the Station and the Vessel. This involved extensive and challenging SAR cases which my team and I endeavored to resolve. In one particularly demanding incident, my boat crew and I received a letter of citation for the night rescue on 2nd of Sept 2007 on the Northumberland Straight, Atlantic Canada. Show less

    • TAMSEN MARITIM

      Jun 2009 - Oct 2010
      Bosun/Mate

My experience on M.Y. taTii began as the vessel was in the final stages of construction. This allowed me to participate in the logistical aspects of preparing taTii for the launch and subsequent presentation at the Cannes, Monaco and Genoa Boat Shows. During ship operations, my duties included being responsible for safe navigation as watch leader, tender driving, and general maintenance and upkeep of the vessel. I was then promoted to the Mates position prior to the start of our summer charter season. During our warranty period I developed a keen interest in overall ships operations, which allowed me to pass my MCA Master 200/OOW 500 in May 2010. Show less

    • MY Pangaea

      Jan 2011 - Mar 2011
      Delivery Crew and Refit Support
    • MY Vava

      Mar 2011 - Jun 2012
      Bosun

Vava was an excellent platform to expand my deck maintenance as well as logistical knowledge. I had had the opportunity to gain valued experience in bridge operations including watch keeping, chart corrections and passage planning. We cruised both sides of the Atlantic, providing a very high standard of service throughout. I was responsible for both crew safety inductions and assisting in ship drills. Vava’s large chase boat gave me plenty of opportunity to hone my skill sets during guest transfers. Show less

    • MY CaryAli

      Oct 2012 - Jan 2013
      Mate

CaryAli was in the final stages of construction when I joined her. The opportunity to aid in the outfitting and commissioning of LSA and augmenting of procedures and many logistical elements was an invaluable experience. Preparing the vessel for it’s maiden voyage was a healthy challenge and highly rewarding as we liaised our efforts with the Yard.

    • MY Troyanda

      Feb 2013 - Sept 2013
      Bosun-Relief Mate

As a fast tempo Charter Yacht, Troyanda demanded constant vigilance to maintain its high level of service. The top quality experience I had onboard further expanded my organizational and project management skills during periods where I took over the Chief Officers responsibilities during yard periods. In addition, I had ample opportunities to utilize both Bridge Watchkeeping and large tender operations.

    • Schmidt Ocean Institute

      Sept 2013 - Mar 2021

As one of RV Falkor's Safety/Navigation/Medical Officers, my roll is to plan and execute voyages to a variety of sites of specific scientific interest for the research parties. Once on station, our team would be responsible for facilitating the launch and recovery of a variety of scientific vehicles and equipment, while maintaining the safety and wellbeing of the crew and scientists. In addition, I would help provide Medical assistance to the ship's personnel in the event of any injury or illness while in a remote maritime environment. Show less

      • Second Officer / Relief Chief Officer

        Sept 2013 - Mar 2021
      • Able Seaman

        Sept 2013 - Apr 2014
    • MY AVIVA (2047 Gt)

      Jul 2015 - Aug 2015
      Relief 2nd Officer

In addition to my regular duties as an Officer of the Watch, I worked in partnership with the ship's departments, to help solve the logistical challenges of keeping a busy Super Yacht running. With a live-aboard owner, the vessel was used extensively throughout the year, and has a demanding schedule that had to be kept. Rarely moored alongside, this allowed me ample opportunity to hone my large tender driving skill sets, as we transported guests to and from the vessel.

    • MY Aviva (2047 Gt)

      Dec 2015 - Dec 2015
      Relief Chief Officer

As the relief Chief Officer, I was responsible for conducting drills and training onboard the vessel in compliance with their voluntary ISM system. In addition, I oversaw the passage planning for potential cruises, and continued to aid in the overview of the ship's husbandry while the guests were onboard.
