  CCJI is an interdisciplinary project that conducts investigations of unresolved cases, advocates for the families in their efforts to attain justice, conducts topical research on U.S. and global civil rights and human rights issues, and serves as an educational and legal clearinghouse for sharing and receiving information on active cases. CCJI works to provide resolution and public scrutiny of these crimes so that individual, organizational, and institutional perpetrators will be held legally and publicly accountable for these offenses. CCJI is currently pursuing numerous cases for potential reopening and prosecution by state and federal law enforcement officials.
